DOCUMENTATION & MEASURED DRAWINGS

This is a module that helps students to develop an understanding of the principles of building preservation and the methods of recording it, which are measured drawings, written documentation and photographic documentation. For measured drawings, students are required to document historically and architecturally significant buildings in the collection of plans, elevations, sections, details and axonometric views/ models and a report.
PROJECT 1- SKETCH BOOK
For the first project we were suppose to attempt to capture the different Genius Loci of our site provided. This includes observing and understanding the fundamental way of living and the local's daily activities to capture the essence of the site and what provides its significance to the site.

PROJECT 2-REPORT & DRAWINGS & MODEL
REPORT
This report consists of the documentation of the Church of St Theresa, from the fundamental basics of location and cultural aspect to the technicalities of the church details and also the importance on why is there a need to conserve the old church. The report jives and produces in depth research to fulfil the answer of "What is the significance of the churches and why is there a need to conserve"
The church assigned to us was fairly simple but after a few trials and error of observation through its past, we have gathered information that extracts the essence of the church through it's manipulation of space through 100 years of it's existence. It brought us into portraying simplicity into various poetic perspective of the church which enhance the need of why it is important to conserve.
DRAWINGS
The drawings produced shows the technicalities of the church in details. It was portrayed through measuring activities on site and compiling it on Revit whilst polishing it on CAD. The list of the drawings were to provide enough information for someone to rebuilt the church again if necessary.
MODEL
Aside from producing reports and drawings, we were required to convey the idea of the significance of the church through physical appearances. We portrayed the model in a way where it highlighted the significance of changes in layout which enhances the reason of our report and poetic perspective.
